Endodontics
What is Endodontic Care?
Endodontic care is a specialized branch of dentistry focused on the health of the tooth’s interior: the pulp, nerves, and surrounding tissues. By targeting problems inside the tooth, endodontic care helps maintain your smile and prevent more extensive dental work in the future.
The Endodontic Procedure
Endodontic treatment focuses on the health of the tooth’s interior, including the pulp, nerves, and surrounding tissues. These procedures are designed to treat infection or damage and help preserve your natural tooth.
During treatment, your dentist or endodontist carefully removes damaged or infected tissue from inside the tooth.
The inner chamber is then cleaned, disinfected, and filled with a medicated material to protect against further infection. Finally, the tooth is typically restored with a dental restoration, such as a crown, to return it to full function and strength.
